Athletics at the UEA

After last week's cluster success Year 6 went to the UEA for the Southern Finals of the athletics tournament.  Here we are with "Eddie" the bear.

Elise looking funny with the bear head with some big cheesy grins around her.
Lee concentrating and getting ready for the Standing Long Jump. He leaped156cm.
Matt leaping for his life ! He makes a big jump - a total of 168cm.
Elise is measured to see how far she had jumped.  It was a total of 130cm
Another talented young Long Jumper takes to the mat .
This is the Vertical Jump where you had to stretch as high as you could and then record how high you were. After that you had to jump and the sports leaders recorded how high you jumped by counting from your stretching position to your jumping height.

This is Lewis doing the vertical jump. He scored a total of 30cm as he jumped as high as he could.
Kieran is another fine Vertical Jump athlete as he scored a total of 35cm.
Maddy doing Speed Bounce jumping like crazy for 20 second as she got a total of 37 bounces.
Here is Amber doing the Speed Bounce getting a total of 48 jumps. Because she is jumping so quick she is blurred in the picture!
Courtney getting an amazing score of 46 in 20 seconds on the Speed Bounce!
Matt  taking a giant throw with an accurate landing  for the javelin.

Kieran about to take off ! He throws a distance of 11m .
At the end there was a teachers race.  Mr Santy ran like the wind as this photo shows!  Needless to say he won!
When all the scores were totalled Roydon were announced as the winners of the large schools competition! Now we are through to the County finals representing the whole of South Norfolk.
Hopefully we will do great like our other two events!
