Hooray! It's not raining! The sports day has started brilliantly. The whole school is split into first continents and then into smaller country groups to take part in 15 different activities. Each team
must record their score and hand their points in for counting. Here are some photos to give you a taster of what is going on!

Sportshall Athletics 25 January 2012
The speed bounce is always a challenge!
The chest push! Kelly Butler did brilliantly at this and really impressed the sports leaders.
Liam Frost proved to be a bit of a natural!
The tournament concluded with the relay races. Roydon did very well and won all the races except the one which involved a crash with an adult!!
The scores were added up and we won!! Roydon will go onto the next stage at the UEA on the 9th February 2012. Well done!!
A big thank you to Mrs Bowen and Mrs Bloom for helping to transport the children and staying to cheer them on.

Dance Festival
Mrs Kineavy's Class (Squirrels) and the Year Ones from Miss Sadd's class (Woodpeckers) enjoyed a day at Diss HIgh School taking part in a Dance Festival.
The children started with a warm up.

Athletics at the UEA
After last week's cluster success Year 6 went to the UEA for the Southern Finals of the athletics tournament. Here we are with "Eddie" the bear.

Lee concentrating and getting ready for the Standing Long Jump. He leaped156cm.
Matt leaping for his life ! He makes a big jump - a total of 168cm.
Elise is measured to see how far she had jumped. It was a total of 130cm
Another talented young Long Jumper takes to the mat .
This is Lewis doing the vertical jump. He scored a total of 30cm as he jumped as high as he could.
Kieran is another fine Vertical Jump athlete as he scored a total of 35cm.
Maddy doing Speed Bounce jumping like crazy for 20 second as she got a total of 37 bounces.
Here is Amber doing the Speed Bounce getting a total of 48 jumps. Because she is jumping so quick she is blurred in the picture!

At the end there was a teachers race. Mr Santy ran like the wind as this photo shows! Needless to say he won!
When all the scores were totalled Roydon were announced as the winners of the large schools competition!Now we are through to the County finals representing the whole of South Norfolk.
Hopefully we will do great like our other two events!
